Mizuno mp 600 driver used
By ZGriswold83 , September 19, in Equipment. JamesFoote 1 post. ZGriswold83 2 posts. The feel is incredible and it's very easy to work for a cc head. You just have to be careful because they're not the most forgiving drivers by any means. IMO the hype is over. Only used for two rounds, but my This thing is a serious cheat stick, i Love it!!!!
It's like the Bridgestone J33R Many might not give it much thought, but after trying it The weights are not meant for swing corrections and are really a refinement for ball flight. I'll have to disagree with that statement. There was no "Hype" over this driver to begin with. And yes, there are quite a few drivers that are more forgiving, the MP is not exactly unforgiving. I was pleasantly surprised at how forgiving it is compared to my J33 I have tried to move on to higher moi drivers but none find the fairway as easily as the MP Combined with the surprising distance the MP achieves, it is very hard not to recommend at least a demo of this driver to all those that do not need maximum forgiveness.
Taylormade SIM2 Max The MP is just another of a long list of excellent Mizuno drivers. It's the best driver I've played. I would agree that the weights conceptually good, but practically, not miracle workers.
Most will find they're best set-up with it. By far the best feeling and sounding driver out there. I think the problem is that when buyers hear Mizuno, they think irons. When they think drivers, it's Callaway Taylormade.
If the mp goes the way of past Mizuno drivers, and is offered at deep discount prices, it should then hit cult status. Titleist D3 9. Odyssey white hot tour 2. I've had a troubled history with drivers, I've searched and searched to find one I like, and it just happens to be a TM, I know there's a lot of hating on TM nowadays because they release drivers every other week, but since I've gotten my R7 I've hit the best drives I have ever hit, and I'm such a club ho that I still look at new drivers, just because mine isn't a "current" driver.
Its a great club The MP should definitely be on the shortlist of candidates for low-cappers looking to improve accuracy and fine tune ball flight. Tiger cutting his driver down to less than 45 is not a rumor and not this just this yr. He has been using a In a golf digest article he once talked about the importance of avg players cutting down a quarter to a half inch at a time until their misses became fairway shots. Said most would be best suited at I bought my MP two months ago and love it.
Your review is right on. My R7 has been put into my closet until further notice. Thanks a lot for the review. I have been questioning what to get for a new driver, but this has helped me out a lot and am looking forward to hitting it in the fairway more often. Your review helped me decide to order a Mizuno to replace my MacGregor mac tec nvg 2 draw driver. Overall it had the best feel and balance, trajectory, sound, and confidence at set up than any of the others.
Mizuno has quietly reached the summit in driver performance for all levels of players. Well, I bought the Mizuno MP I had trouble with it at first. Despite moving the weights to a strong draw position, I found myself slicing or fading it more often than not.
After a few rounds, though, I adusted my setup, with the face just a tad closed and found myself hitting the ball long and straight, or with a very welcome slight draw. Perhaps 10 yards or so, but still straight.
Chris Gaul, 9 handicap. Thanks for reporting back, Chris. My best swings with each are pretty even, but I seem to be getting more out of the mishits with the Mizuno. The incumbent is in danger of losing its place. The review is right on the money. I just switched to the MP and am so glad that I did! I could kill the ball with it, but finding the fairway was somewhat of a problem. The first round with the MP was a dream come true. I hit 13 of 14 fairways and had one of my best rounds in a long time.
I lost about 10 to 15 yards in carry with it, but it seems to roll out better than my PING. Overall, this is a game changing club for me! I bought the mp with the fit on shaft and was totally dissapointed. I changed to the innovative shaft and it was worse. I did allot of shaft research and found that the pro jec twR would meet my swing the best. I ordered it, WOW!!!!!! I mean WOW!!!!! No draw no fade, straight as an arrow. The MP is truly a great driver.
I had the Burner but hooked it too much. I have the weights set at neutral I can get 94 but very seldom will swing that hard. The sound of this club is very solid, not loud like the calaway or cobra. Had an MP 9. Also great in strong winds. Are you serious about with a 90 mph swing speed? Was that carry, or did it included roll — downhill!
They seem to have disappeared! Thanks for the review. I got this driver thrown in with a deal on irons and have, so far, had mixed results. Previously I played a r with a 76 gram proforce v2. The mizuno with the fujikura shaft bumped up my ball speed pretty considerably, but also really lowered my launch which was a surprise. I have a pretty high swing speed and hit the ball consistently, so I was a little dumbfounded to watch the lanch angle and spin go way down with the mizuno.
If anything, I thought the proforce would produce a lower launch. But there is an upside. If I try to hit it high, especially with the weights set to a fade the club produces long flat gentle draws.
And I love the sound! This club sounds like a whip crack for me. I ordered a new shaft — a proforce axivcore black. Will report results soon. What loft did you get? And was it the stock Fuji shaft a stiff flex ? Let us know about the avixcore. Good luck. When I said quick and lazy, I meant a very fast transition at the top of my swing.
The shaft launches the ball higher than the stock fujikura without spinning it more from the looks of things and the head still produces that hot ball speed and sweet sound.
I did not hit the club with its original shaft on a launch monitor, but I did hit the axivcore. The first one cracked first day on the driving range and Mizuno replaced it within two days, no questions asked and nothing out of my pocket. I am a highcapper but quickly getting more accurate. I love my MP driver. Even on the miss hits I had, the results were very good and fairly good distance wise. I would say that it is on par with most of the better drivers on the market today with regard to the potential distance of the driver.
After changing the weights on the fast track to get my desired set up and preferred ball shape, I then started to mess around with the settings to see if I could create some different ball flights and such. This was actually the fun part of the review as I got to mess around a little bit and try and hit some different shots. This did manipulate the spin of the ball a little bit and if you are looking for a driver that will allow you to fine tune your spin rate or desired shot shape, this could be one to check out.
Should you buy this driver or not? That is not really for me to tell you, all I can do is give you my opinion on the driver and hope that helps or answers some of the questions you might have had about it. If was going to purchase a new driver, this driver would be on, or right near the top of my list. It accomplishes everything that I look for in a driver.
It has the adjustability aspect, great distance, appearance, and quality, that as a former professional, I expect from my current golf clubs. I am not sure that a higher handicap player would reap the benefits of a driver like this. But if you are a mid to low handicap golfer looking for a quality driver at a reasonable price, this might be the ticket.
Am I lucky?. Yes sure I am. Just got back from the range with the new Perfect ball flight for me and very easy to hit. I like the set up and the sound. I received my I have hit the 9. Hit this club today and was very impressed. Great look, sound, and control. I moved the weights and it did have a significant impact on ball flight. In comparing this driver to other drivers in the similar market, such as the superquad, I feel that it is on par if not better than those drivers.
The spin rate was better for me with the MP than the superquad, and the TP Very similar spin rates to my tour issued TP that was made for me by the Tour Dept. So in seeing that the MP is basically off the rack, to have similar spin rates is outstanding. This driver is geared toward the lower to mid handicap player. Those drivers are geared toward the higher handicap player and are much easier to hit and gain better performance results than the MP I am not saying that no high handicapper will enjoy this driver, all I was saying is that they could be better off with something that is designed to help a non-repetitive swing and off center hits which is what alot of the square and high MOI drivers are aimed at doing.
The weight system is good and one of the neat things about the driver. IF you are looking for the 8 gram weights to massively change your ballflight it is not going to happen. But if you want to slightly modify some spin reduce a hook, enhance a slight fade…etc. These weights will not dramatically change the ballflight, which is true for most all of the moveable weight technology drivers. Nice review, I only wish you could have compared it to something else….
Do the weights not compensate well for a slicer? Or is it simply punishing on misshits? Your email address will not be published. This site uses Akismet to reduce spam.
